Summer in the Psalms
Psalms 23:6
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days in my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord.
Psalm 22 My God, why hast thou forsaken me?
I have learned to be content! – Paul
To be content, have a source of your joy…What is yours?
A. Surely the good shepherd gives us all we need- The shepherd takes care of his sheep.
Sheep have short legs… No meant to carry heavy loads. Camels legs are designed for load bearing. WE are sheep.
Four things that sheep must have
1. Full (be in green pastures)
2. Fearless (will not lie down when afraid or when there is disharmony) 3. Content (no pests) 4. No disharmony
Lost sheep can’t find its way home. He leads me in the path of righteousness for His namesake.
B. Surely the good shepherd protects us from evil. Thy rod and thy staff comfort me…
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
C. Surely the good shepherd promises eternal life. He will lead me safely home.
He gives us more than enough!
Try reading Psalm 23 from verse 6 up to verse 1. What an impact!
