Twanisha Brooks
Twanisha Brooks is a product of the Birmingham City School System. Being a graduate of West End High, she participated in the concert choir under the direction of Alona Cunningham. She furthered her education at Miles College. There, she participated in many stage productions and was a student director under the direction of the late Dr. Bernard Williams, Sr. In 2007, she became the first Choral Music Education major to graduate in the school’s history. Since 2014, Twanisha has been employed as the Director of Choirs of Fairfield High Preparatory School. Her church membership is held at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama, under the leadership of Dr. Michael Wesley, Sr. Pastor Wesley encouraged her to become the youth choir director. Later, she eventually began to direct the adult choir and was one of the original members of the praise team. She began playing the organ in 2010 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Bessemer, Alabama. She has been the assistant minister of music at 45th Street since January 2013. Her favorite scripture is Romans 8:18.
